CABTAS Annual Cultural Program-2019

The Annual Cultural Program-2019, organized by CABTAS under the active coordination and support of Let’s Dance Group” led by the Dance Coordinator Mr. Sudesh Gurung was successfully held at Jim Durrell, Ottawa.

Youths and Children from “Let’s Dance Group” performed a series of Nepali cultural items on the stage. A few Nepali song items presented by the youth singers from the community in between the dance items added extra flavour to the show.

The main goals of conducting annual cultural program are: to remind the young Nepali Speaking generation on the Nepali culture and language, and its need to preserve and pass on to the generations to come; to encourage young generations to participate in such community based programs; and to entertain the Bhutanese Nepali Community and the guests by exchanging love and greetings to one another.

As in the previous year, a huge presence of audience with colourful cultural attires added beauty and extra glamor to the show. The excitements and enthusiasm of young and old present at the program greatly boosted up the morale of the organizers and performers.

The students of Let’s Dance Group were awarded Certificates, and the prominent guests and active personalities involved in the well-being of the Bhutanese Nepali Community are honoured with Khadas or Scarfs around their necks as a mark of respect and acknowledgement for their support and contributions to the community. Similarly, the community volunteers who were involved in preparing Nepali food for the program were given gift cards as a token of love and appreciation.

Finally, I on behalf of Canadian Bhutanese Association (CABTAS ), Ottawa, would like to thank all the valued Guests, Members from Bhutanese Nepali Community, all the participants from Let’s Dance Group, and the members from the Organizing Committee in helping make our Annual Cultural Program-2019 a grand success.
