Canadian Citizenship Class
The Canadian Citizenship Preparation Class successfully completed its fourth week teaching session and is moving towards the fifth week. Candidates are increasing every week and are enjoying learning enthusiastically. The participants are taught strictly from the Study Guide, “Discover Canada” published by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. The target group is the Bhutanese Nepali candidates who are weak in English language to comprehend the text contents and difficult English terminologies and political concepts. The Citizenship class covers all text contents word by word and verse by verse interpreting and explaining from English to plain Nepali language. The class session ends up with the conduction of simple test based on the Canadian Citizenship Test pattern.

The first batch of candidates successfully completed their Canadian Citizenship Classes and almost all of them have passed their Canadian Citizenship Test. Canadian Bhutanese Association (CABTAS), Ottawa, is very thankful to South-East Ottawa Community Health Center for providing a space for the class at 2850 Cedarwood Dr. (Hub) with internet access. This community Center also rendered a great help to the first batch by photocopying test questions.

Mr. Santa Man Rai, Settlement Counsellor, Settlement and Integration from Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO), has extended his support to run the classes in collaboration with CABTAS. He has expressed his commitment to render volunteer services in giving classes as well as providing photocopies of test questions from OCISO when required. CABTAS is looking forward to having Santa Rai join the Citizenship Classes to help CABTAS for future classes.
